PA Gaming Control Board`s Landmark Public-input Hearings Featured In Major Trade Magazine
HARRISBURG: Global Gaming Business magazine (www.ggbmagazine.com), in its July 2006 issue, highlights the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board's public-input hearings on proposed gaming facilities, held across the Commonwealth in April and May.
"Pennsylvania Partners with the Public" explores the 18 days of hearings on the 22 gaming applications to gather input from individuals, community organizations, local elected officials and the applicants themselves.
The story, authored by Gaming Control Board member Mary DiGiacomo Colins, notes that "for the first time in the history of regulated gaming in the United States, the public has been given an opportunity not only to acquire, first hand, the application information offered by those vying for operators' licenses, but also to have input into the selection process."
