Pennsylvania Slot Machine Revenue Down 4% In February

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today posted on its web site the monthly report for total gross revenue and tax revenue generated from the play of slot machines at casinos during February 2017.

According to the report, gross revenue from slot machines at the 12 casinos fell 3.95% in February of this year to $192,268,470 compared to the $200,166,274 in gross revenue that was generated in February 2016.

Slot revenue in February 2017 was negatively impacted when compared to 2016 due to February 2016 being a leap year.

Gross slot machine revenue for each of the casinos is as follows, with the percentage change reflected over the previous year:

Tax revenue in February of this year was $102,145,159.*

The average number of slot machines operating throughout Pennsylvania was 26,254 in February 2017 compared to 26,415 in February 2016.

About the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board:

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is tasked to oversee all aspects of the state’s casino industry. There are 10 stand-alone and racetrack casinos in operation, along with the two smaller resort casinos.  These facilities collectively employ 18,000 people and annually generate approximately $1.4 billion in tax revenue from slot machine and table games play. The largest portion of that money is used for property tax reduction to all Pennsylvania homeowners.
