Underage Gaming Violations Lead To $25,000 Fine Against Southeast Pennsylvania Casino

Board also adds 17 individuals to its PA casinos involuntary excluded list

HARRISBURG, PA:   The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today approved a consent agreement resulting in a fine of $25,000 against Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, Inc., operator of the Parx Casino in Bucks County.

The fine was the result of the approval of a consent agreement between the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel and  Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment for two violations in which it permitted underage gambling;

  • A 20-year-old male was on the gaming floor for a period of approximately three-and-a–half hours on February 16, 2015, and who wagered at table games and consumed alcohol;
  • Permitting at 20-year-old male on the gaming floor for a period of approximately three hours on February 19, 2015 during which he wagered at table games, a slot machine, and consumed alcohol.

Both individuals were charged by the Pennsylvania State Police.

The board also today approved the addition of 17 individuals to its Involuntary Exclusion List, bringing the total banned from entering Pennsylvania casinos to 366.  The Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act provides for the establishment of this list for persons who are to be excluded or ejected from licensed facilities in the Commonwealth. The list consists of career or professional offenders, cheats and other individuals whose presence in a licensed facility would be inimical to the interest of the Commonwealth, of licensed gaming, or both.

The next meeting of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in the PGCB’s Public Hearing Room located on the second floor of Strawberry Square in Harrisburg.
