PA Gaming Control Board Fines Harrah's Philadelphia Casino And Racetrack For Various Violations

HARRISBURG, PA:   The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Wednesday levied fines totaling $22,500 for three regulatory violations against Chester Downs and Marina, LLC, operator of Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack in Delaware County.

All of the fines were a result of Board-approved consent agreements between the casino operator and the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel.

The consent agreements were for:

·         $10,000 for allowing a deck of cards that contained a discrepancy to be used at a poker table on two occasions;

·         $7,500 for failure to properly address automatic shuffler prompts which indicated a discrepancy in cards used at a blackjack table;

·         $5,000 for failure to prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas on two occasions during a single day.

The next meeting of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2014, in the PGCB’s Public Hearing Room located on the second floor of Strawberry Square in Harrisburg.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board was established in 2004 with the passage of Act 71, also known as the Race Horse Development and Gaming Act.
