Pennsylvania Table Games Revenue Rises 13.6% In May

Overall Gaming Revenue Also Up Over Last Year

HARRISBURG: Revenue generated at casinos from the play of table games jumped sharply during May of this year, according to figures posted today on the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board web site.

With an average of 1,042 tables in daily operation statewide during May, gross revenue from the play of table games was $62,758,499. That amount was 13.6% higher than in May 2012 when revenue totaled $55,224,988 with an average of 1,031 tables operating on a daily basis.

Coupled with figures on slot machine revenue released earlier this month, overall gross revenue from both slots and tables during May was up $6.3 million, or 2.4%, over last May. Total gaming revenue this May was $274,003,634 compared to $267,682,157.

Tax revenue generated by table games exceeded $9 million during May. Of that amount, $7,751,630 was deposited into the Commonwealth's General fund while $1,255,170 was deposited into the Local Share Fund.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board was established in 2004 with the passage of Act 71, also known as the Race Horse Development and Gaming Act.
