Pennsylvania Slots Revenue For May Shows Slight Difference From 2012
HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported today that the difference in slot machine revenue generated at casinos during May of this year differed by less than 1% compared to May of 2012.
The complete casino by casino report, which can be found on the Board’s web site www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov, indicates a difference of just over $1 million when comparing slot machine revenue at the eleven operating casinos: $211,245,136 in May 2013 compared to $212,457,169 during May of last year. That is a decrease of 0.57%.
That resulted in a return of $113,753,541 in taxes to Pennsylvania citizens during May, an average of $3.7 million of taxes collected per day.
The average number of slot machines operating on a daily basis at the 11 casinos was also slightly lower, 25,973 in May 2013 compared to 26,812 during May 2012.
Gross revenue for each of the casinos operating in May 2013 is as follows, with the percentage change reflected for those casinos that were operating in May of both years:

About the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board:
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board was established in 2004 with the passage of Act 71, also known as the Race Horse Development and Gaming Act. Pennsylvania’s first new state agency in nearly 30 years, the Gaming Control Board is tasked to oversee all aspects of the state’s casino industry. The 11 casinos in operation all offer both slot machine and table games gambling, employ over 16,000 people, and collectively generate an average of $4 million per day in tax revenue. A portion of that money is used for property tax reduction to all Pennsylvania homeowners; provide funds to the Commonwealth’s horse racing industry, fire companies, a statewide water and sewer project grant program, and the state’s General Fund; and, established a new stream of tax revenue to local governments that host casinos for community projects.
