Revenue From Table Games Play During March Highest To Date At Pennsylvania Casinos
HARRISBURG, PA: The amount of revenue generated from the collective play of table games at Pennsylvania casinos during March of 2013 was the highest monthly amount to date, 9% higher than revenue produced last March.
According to a report posted today on the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board's web site, this March's gross table games revenue was $67,383,247 or $5,518,702 higher than in March 2012 when revenue totaled $61,864,545. That revenue total last March had been the highest to date since table games were introduced at Pennsylvania casinos in July 2010.
With an average of 1,041 tables in operation statewide on a daily basis, tax revenue produced this March was $9,711,678.
Coupled with figures on slot machine revenue released earlier this month, overall gross revenue from both slots and tables was $296,718,618 this March compared to $295,012,024 in March of last year, an increase of 1%.

About the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board:
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board was established in 2004 with the passage of Act 71, also known as the Race Horse Development and Gaming Act. Pennsylvania's first new state agency in nearly 30 years, the Gaming Control Board is tasked to oversee all aspects of the state's casino industry. The 11 casinos in operation all offer both slot machine and table game gambling, employ over 16,000 people, and collectively generate an average of $4 million per day in tax revenue. A portion of that money is used for property tax reduction to all Pennsylvania homeowners; provide funds to the Commonwealth's horse racing industry, fire companies, a statewide water and sewer project grant program, and the state's General Fund; and, established a new stream of tax revenue to local governments that host casinos for community projects.
