PA Table Games Revenue Increases 15.5% In June
Combined with slot machines, revenue for Fiscal Year 2011/12 totaled $3.14 billion
HARRISBURG, PA: Revenue from table games play at Pennsylvania casinos was $57.1 million in June 2012, according to a report released today by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. That represented a 15.5% increase in revenue from table games during June of this year compared to June of 2011.
The June figure boosted table games revenue during the 2011/12 Fiscal Year to $663.9 million, an increase of 30.8% over the previous state Fiscal Year.
The monthly report, posted on the Board’s web site, www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov, shows $9.2 million in tax revenue generate from table games this June and a total tax revenue from table games during Fiscal Year 2011/12 of $107 million.
Pennsylvania taxes gross revenue from table games at 16%. Of that amount, 14% goes the to the Commonwealth’s General Fund and 2% to the Local Share Assessment.
Combined with the slot machine revenue generated in 2011/12, total combined revenue from casino gaming was $3,140,629,989 or 10% higher than in the 2010/11 Fiscal Year. Combined tax revenue from slot machines and table games for the 2011/2012 Fiscal Year was $1,452,526,837 compared to $1,365,365,989 produced the previous Fiscal Year.

The Board also provided a gross table game revenue comparison for each casino for the 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 Fiscal Years along with total gaming revenues for all Fiscal Years since casino gaming began in November 2006. Pennsylvania casinos operated just slot machines until July 2010 when table games were added.

About the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board:
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board was established in 2004 with the passage of Act 71, also known as the Race Horse Development and Gaming Act. Pennsylvania’s first new state agency in nearly 40 years, the Gaming Control Board is tasked to oversee all aspects of the state’s casino industry. The 11 casinos in operation all offer both slot machine and table game gambling, employ over 16,000 people, and collectively have generated nearly $6.9 billion in tax and license fee revenue since the first casino opened in November 2006. A portion of that money has delivered property tax reduction in each of the past 5 years for all Pennsylvania homeowners; provided funding to the Commonwealth’s horse racing industry, fire companies, water/sewer projects, and the state’s General Fund; and, established a new stream of tax revenue to local governments for community projects.
