Documents Detailing Decision By PGCB To Grant Category 3 Resort Casino License To Nemacolin Woodlands Now Public

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today publicly released on its web site the order and adjudication that contain the reasons for its decision to grant a Category 3 slot machine license Woodlands Fayette, LLC, operators of the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Wharton Township, Fayette County.

The documents are available for download and printing by visiting the Gaming Control Board’s website www.pgcb.state.pa.us, and choosing a link under the What’s New section on the home page titled “Orders & Adjudication - Nemacolin Licensing Decision.”

The award, made on April 14th of this year on a 6 to 1 vote, was the second award of a Category 3 license.  The Board has previously awarded the Valley Forge Convention Center with a Category 3 license. Those two Category 3 licenses are the only ones currently available under the Gaming Act, though recent amendments to that law would enable the Board to consider a third such license after the year 2017.

Parties who have standing in this licensing matter can file an appeal to this licensing decision no later than 30 days from the date of the order directly to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
