PA Gaming Control Board To Hold Public Hearing On Sugarhouse Petition To Finance Project
HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced that it will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 to receive evidence and to consider the HSP Gaming, L.P. (SugarHouse Casino) request for approval of its financing package.
The hearing is open to the public and will begin at 12:00 noon in the North Office Building, Hearing Room 2, located at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and North Street in Harrisburg.
HSP Gaming L.P. requested approval of the financing on August 5, 2009. Those interested in obtaining an electronic copy of the petition can contact the PGCB Communications Office at 717-346-8321.
Following the receipt of evidence and the position of the Office of Enforcement Counsel, the Board may consider the matter for final decision.
Previously, on May 6, 2009, the Gaming Control Board approved Sugarhouse Casino's modified construction plan and a two-year extension of its license. That approval enabled SugarHouse to construct an interim facility with 1,700 slot machines along Delaware Avenue. The modified plan permits construction of one story instead of the originally-proposed two story casino. The change also maintains the natural shoreline with a pedestrian path.
