PA Gaming Control Board To Hold Public Hearing On Sugarhouse Casino Petition
HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced that it will hold a hearing on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 to consider the HSP Gaming, L.P. (SugarHouse Casino) requests for additional time to make slot machines available to play and to make modifications to its approved development plan.
The Board meeting is open to the public and will begin at 11:00 am in the State Museum Auditorium, located at 300 North Street in Harrisburg. The hearing on the SurgarHouse Petition will take place following the Board meeting.
Due to tremendous public interest with regard to this petition, the Board will accept both oral and written public comment which will become part of the evidentiary record in this matter.
Individuals and public officials who wish to address the Board at the hearing must register on the PGCB website at www.pgcb.state.pa.us by clicking on the public meeting signup icon or contacting the Board Secretary Mickey Kane at 717-346-8300 by 4:00 pm May 1, 2009.
Individuals who wish to submit written comments to the board for inclusion in the Board’s evidentiary record can do so through the PGCB website at www.pgcb.state.pa.us by clicking on the public meeting signup icon or by mailing or faxing comments to the Board Secretary by noon on April 29, 2009. For those individuals that provided public comment at the April 8, 2009 Board meeting in Harrisburg their statements will be placed into the record.
The HSP Gaming, L.P. petition is available on the PGBC website along with general information on the rules of conduct for presenters and members of the audience.
The hearing is for the purpose of completing the evidentiary record, and for the Board to obtain all information needed to rule upon the HSP Gaming L.P. petition.
Following the hearing, the Board will deliberate and decide whether to grant, grant with conditions, or deny the requested relief.
