PA Gaming Control Board Sets 10-day Comment Period On 2-region Supplier Concept

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced a 10-day public comment period on a concept introduced by Chairman Tad Decker that would divide the state into two regions for the purpose of issuing gaming-supplier licenses mandated by Act 71 of 2004 and would include other common distribution practices.

“As you are aware, there are conflicting proposals for regulating slot-machine suppliers,” Decker said. “In an effort to reach consensus on this issue, I am introducing this proposal so that the Board may receive comments from potential gaming-facility operators, manufacturers, suppliers and the general public to help it develop supplier regulations.”

The memo outlining Chairman Decker’s proposal is available only on the Board’s Web site, www.pgcb.state.pa.us. All comments must be sent by U.S. mail and postmarked by Monday July 18, 2005, for inclusion in the final record.

Comments should be sent to PGCB, P.O. Box 69060, Harrisburg, PA, 17106-9060, Attn: Public Comment.

Decker noted that people wishing to submit comments for the public record must include the following information: name, organization represented (if appropriate), mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address, county, topic/regulation section number discussed. The mailing address, telephone number and e-mail address are for verification purposes only and will not be published in the final record.

Decker also noted that submissions may be excluded from the final record if they do not address the topic of two-region supplier concept outlined in his memo.

Once the public comment period is closed, the Board will make the complete record of comments and Board responses available to interested parties via its Web site, www.pgcb.state.pa.us.
