INFORMATION ON PENNSYLVANIA'S TAVERN GAMES LAW
Act 90 of 2013, generally referred to as the Tavern Gaming Law, was recently enacted by the General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Tom Corbett. The role of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (“PGCB”) under this Act is limited to conducting background investigations on applicants through its Bureau of Investigations and Enforcement (“BIE”). Upon completion of background investigations, BIE will transmit reports to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (“PLCB”) for their consideration in determining the awarding of a license.
Please check the PLCB website at www.lcb.state.pa.us for additional information relative to tavern gaming.
If you have questions dealing specifically with fingerprinting and the required criminal background, please e-mail the Gaming Control Board’s Bureau of Investigations and Enforcement at: TavernGamesPGCB@pa.gov
